Showcasing the spoken word talent across the North-East

A spoken word showcase that highlights the amazing talent in the North-East including an amazing and diverse range of poets, comedians and spoken word artists. 

Hosted by Mwelwa Chilekwa, an artist that tackles identity and prejudice with moving poetry. She also facilitates events for other creatives.   

Pure Class is a creative community produced by Mwelwa Chilekwa a passionate poet that raises awareness for important issues with her art.  

 
Pure Class provides a range of opportunities for creatives from writing workshops to open mic nights. The current projects offered are a monthly open mic night at Station East Pub and a spoken word showcase at the Newcastle Fringe Festival.
