What happens when East meets West?

Kintsugi is the Japanese Art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Byker Ward was home to Maling Pottery, once the biggest in the world. This unique true story takes us from the Neon streets of Tokyo to the microclimate of Byker in one woman's search to make sense of culture shock and trauma.

This performance uses storytelling and clowning to explore what happens when East meets West and the magic of returning home to your roots and yourself. A darkly funny look at PTSD, the search for belonging and how healing may look different for everyone.

This 30 minute solo show written and performed by Lindsay Nicholson has been described as “quirky, poetic, powerful, heartfelt and warming.”

Lindsay Nicholson is best described as a theatre maker which encompasses performing, writing, directing, facilitating and social engagement with various communities. Lindsay is a working class artist commited to theatre for social change & justice. She particularly likes to explore hope and light in the dark and celebrate everyday ordinary people with extraordinary stories to tell.
